Friday Night Lights is a compelling series. Set in a small Texas town where high school football is at the centre of most of what people do. As with all good TV series now days the writers use the extra time, compared to a movie, to develop good characters and story lines. This is especially the case compared to the Friday Night Lights movie which only focuses on the football team and some of their family members. The TV show gets to take it further so that it is not just about football but about the people of the town

It's quite an alien experience...enjoying a tv show about american football in a midwestern town where they take their football and their religion very seriously indeed. I have zero interest in either but I still found this show interesting and thoughtful and funny as well as eye opening. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did

Quite simply, the best TV show ever! Such a heartbreakingly realistic portrayal of small towns, marriage, family, friendships and the pressures of life in general. I can't say enough about the performances, particularly the two leads, Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton who are just breathtaking. This is not a show about football - this is a show about every one of us. It's all about the little moments and the little moments have never been so perfectly captured as they are in "Friday Night Lights".
