This release includes the first season of director David Lynch's shockingly original television series. When its two-hour pilot episode aired on April 8, 1990, the program forever changed the face of prime-time television. A bizarre, ingenious, hysterical, terrifying murder mystery set in the Pacific Northwest logging town of Twin Peaks, the series opens with the discovery of the body of Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee), a seemingly straitlaced high school student. Assigned to the case is FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan), a quirky man who converses regularly with Diane, his portable tape recorder. As Cooper settles into his life in Twin Peaks, he meets a revolving cast of characters who are all off-kilter in their own personal way. Gradually, the town’s facade of extreme normality begins to crack mightily, revealing an endless barrage of schemes, fronts, and hidden relationships that expose Twin Peaks as the disturbed, unsettling town that it is.

LOVED it and watched it the first time around - the quality deteriorates in the later series - slow moving but some truly spectacular moments. Genuinely creepy.

Only discovered this show about a year ago, and it is still my favourite. The acting is fantastic, not to mention Badalamenti's soundtrack! You will quickly develop that 'twin peaks feeling' once you start watching.

This is the best series. I loved it when it was on TV, the sound track is beautifully haunting if you can get your hands on it and I'm loving watching it again. It was ground breaking TV.

I remember this being on TV when I was a kid, but I was too young to watch it. Now, 20 years later, after a friend recently mentioned the show, I decided to watch it. So far, this popular high school girl has been murdered (She's dead... wrapped in plastic!) and the police are trying to solve the case. You can tell this is an old show, but it seems interesting so far, and I can't wait for the rest of the discs to arrive.

Still one of the most weird shows ever. There is no way to describe it, it mixes every type of genre together, from really cheesy melodrama to menacing horror/thriller and supernatural elements. Amazing. A must see.

This is David Lynch at his finest. It has a wonderfully crafted plot that centers around a dead protagonist who drives the action further to reveal the crumbling decay that lies underneath the sleepy small town called Twin Peaks. This quirky television series will keep you enthralled until the very end. Then to your dismay you will discover Season 2 is still yet to be released on DVD!
